Principal’s Report
Dear Parents/Caregivers
Literacy Open Morning
On Wednesday 28th March all parents and family members are invited to attend school and experience how guided reading operates within the classroom. This is a great opportunity to see and experience how your child is currently learning to read. Classrooms will be open to parents between 8.30am and 9.15am.
At 9.30am our Literacy Specialist, Ms Louise Lipman will be presenting a 30 minute parent workshop in the library. The workshop will focus on how parents can support their child’s reading development at home. We look forward to seeing you on the day.
Anzac Day Ceremony
All parents and community members are invited to the school ANZAC ceremony on Friday 13th April commencing at 9.00am around the school’s commemorative garden at the rear of the library.
Easter Holidays
A reminder that all Western Australian schools will be closed from Friday 30th March until Tuesday 3rd April. Students and staff return to school on Wednesday 4th April.
Fathering Project
Dad/father figures are invited to a fantastic opportunity to meet up, chat and be encouraged to join the Fathering Project.
This will be an informal but informative event just for dads and father figures to attend that will provide you with some information about what The Fathering Project is, what they think are important things about being a dad and how they can help you and the other dads in starting a “Champion Dads” group at our school.
This will give you more opportunities to have fun with me/us, give us each a chance to make new friends and help us to build an even stronger school community.
The Fathering Project will present to you and the other dads and father figures so you can meet, talk, share and support each other in starting a group and helping you to be the best dad you can be.
It would be great if you could come along and I hope you will learn some interesting ideas about being a dad, talk about the exciting things we can do together and how you and the other dads can have fun and help the school.
The event will be held on Wednesday 23rd May, commencing with a sausage sizzle at 5:00pm with a follow-up presentation from 5:30pm to 6:15pm. If you would like to attend please RSVP by calling 6206 4200.
